91 000 74051 Asian Paints SmartCare Repair Mortar A ready-to-use, single-component, polymer-modified cementitious mortar specifically designed for structural repair work on concrete. It is a pre-blended powder that only requires the addition of water on site.

Primary Function: To repair and restore damaged reinforced concrete (RCC) structures like beams, columns, and slabs by providing high strength, excellent adhesion, and resistance to shrinkage.

Q1: What is the mixing ratio and method?

A: For a 25 kg bag, use 4.75 liters of clean, potable water. This is a fixed water-powder ratio of 0.19.

Method: Always add the powder to the water. Mix for at least 3 minutes using a slow-speed drill (500 RPM) fitted with a spiral paddle to achieve a lump-free consistency. Hand mixing is not recommended.

Q2: What is the maximum thickness it can be applied?

A: It is suitable for repairs up to 50 mm thick. However, the maximum thickness for a single coat is 25 mm. For repairs between 25mm and 50mm, apply a second coat after the first has set, using a bonding agent between layers.

Q3: How do I prepare the concrete surface?

A: Proper surface preparation is critical:

Remove all loose, weak material, laitance, oil, grease, and paint.

Mechanically roughen smooth surfaces (e.g., by scabbling).

Saw-cut the edges of the repair area to a depth of 12mm to avoid feather edges.

Soak the substrate with water and remove any excess (saturated surface dry condition).

Q4: What is the pot life?

A: The mixed mortar must be used within 60 minutes.

Q5: What are the limitations?

Application temperature: Between +5C to +40C.
